Dear: Gentle Taste for Your Loved Ones
A pudding infused with Chef Tateno’s philosophy.

When your body simply says yes—you know it’s good for you.

Chef Narihisa Tateno of Oshokujikai drew on his pastry background to create dear, a pudding known for its delicate, full-bodied flavor. Passionate about wholesome food, he explains: ““Today’s sweets are everywhere, but many rely on white sugar, and the cream often lacks care or character. I wanted people to see beyond appearances and enjoy desserts that truly nourish the body—that’s why I created dear.”
The philosophy of Oshokujikai—caring for food—shines through in Dear. “Pudding usually comes with caramel sauce. But I thought honey would be gentler on the body, and that’s how Dear began. We later introduced strawberry sauce, and now make new versions with unrefined cane sugar.”
From pudding to sauce, every detail is thoughtfully crafted to make this a truly luxurious dessert. “Sweets are occasional treats. I want mine to bring joy without guilt—something truly nourishing. Especially for children—II hope these desserts help them develop a taste for real, healthy flavor.”
Dear releases new creations using ingredients in season. Every spoonful reflects Chef Tateno’s belief that flavor and wellness can—and should—go hand in hand.
