「旅する餃子」アフリカ・セネガル編。
広いアフリカ大陸の、どこにあるかピンとこないセネガル。
だからこそ、未知の美味しさに出会えそうな予感がする。

「平和とおもてなしの国」と称されるセネガル。

Senegal, the land of peace and hospitality

When one thinks of Africa, often animals on savannas come to mind. But Africa has 54 nations, and this “traveling gyoza” takes us to Senegal, on its western tip.
Senegal is a vibrant, culturally rich country. Its capital, Dakar, is a lively port city known for music like “Mbalax.” Senegalese people value ” Teranga” (hospitality), fostering widespread smiles. Famous sites include Gorée Island (slave trade history) and the pink Lac Rose.
While fishing and agriculture are key, IT and tourism are growing, revealing Africa’s deep charm to visitors.

「マフェ」という国民食をイメージした餃子。

Dumplings inspired by the national dish called “Mafé”

Senegal, a democratic African nation and former French colony, boasts Africa’s most refined cuisine—a blend of Wolof, Islamic, and European influences. Many dishes feature peanuts, with the famous Mafé stew being a prime example.
Our gyoza are inspired by Mafé. Ingredients: ground chicken, onion, tomato, unsalted peanut butter, roasted peanuts, and Italian parsley.

Method: (1) Knead ingredients into wrappers, then roll and shape. (2)Mix chicken, onion, tomato, peanut butter, roasted peanuts, Italian parsley, and salt for the filling. (3) Wrap and steam.

The result is a rich gyoza with tomato tang and peanut butter depth.
The vibrant, black-accented wrappers are striking. Eating them evokes distant Africa—a truly unique experience.
